-A A +A

The Annual Budget Meeting (which adjourns to Referendum) will be held on Tuesday, April 24 at 7:00 PM in the Senior Center/Meeting Room.  This meeting provides an opportunity for the public to gain information regarding the proposed budget by asking questions (no formal presentation occurs - questions will be answered as they are raised).  No changes can be made to the proposed budget. The Board of Selectmen have voted to 'move the budget to a referendum vote.'  The referendum will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 with voting occuring at the usual polling places.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the Town of New Hartford proposed budget, please call First Selectman Dan Jerram at 860-379-3389 or stop by Town Hall to see him.
Please note that the proposed budget includes the local Board of Education, the General Government and Capital Expenditures for local Board of Education and the Town.  The Regional School District operates as an entity of its own and the budget for the Regional Board of Education is voted on separately at Referendum; however, the 'cost sharing' amount associated with that proposed budget is reflected in the town's budget as an assessment.

The Annual Town Meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 following the adjournment of the Annual Budget Meeting.  The town meeting has several items for the public to consider, one of which is the acquisition of an agricultural easement and riverside trail located on property known as Michael Butler Farm.  There will be an opportunity to discuss this acquisition and get the answers to questions you may have regarding this property before taking it to Referendum.
