Absentee Ballots and Election Information

Beginning Friday, October 5th, Absentee Ballots are available for the November 6th state election in the Town Clerk's office - visit the Town Clerk's page for additional information or call 860-379-5037.

There are two Constitutional Amendment Questions on the Ballot.  Explanatory Text for each question is available:

On November 6th, Polls will be open from 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM.  Voters will vote in their assigned polling places -- Residents of District 1 vote at New Hartford Town Hall in the Senior Center, District 2 votes at the South End Fire Station.

Voter Registration Fraud Warning

Secretary of the State Denise Merrill warns residents that there have been reports of suspicious telephone calls to register voters and arrange for absentee ballots.  Callers claim to be from TurboVote, but the organization has indicated they are not placing these calls.  The callers are offering to register residents over the phone, and in some cases, to send the voter an absentee ballot. In Connecticut, residents cannot register to vote by phone, and to get an absentee ballot a voter has to submit an absentee ballot application with an original signature to their Town Clerk.

Voters are warned to not share their personal information over the phone. If you receive one of these calls, hang up and the report the call to Taffy Womack at the Secretary of the State’s office at (860) 509-6117 or email her at
