Animal Control

The Town of New Hartford Animal Control Officer is Les Archer.  He can be reached by calling 860-309-7228.  Les has four deputy (assistant) Animal Contol Officers that work under his direction.  None of the officers are full time personnel.  Animal Control Officers respond on an "as needed basis."  If you require the services of an animal control officer, please call the above number. Assistance will be dispatched as required. Please be aware that immediate assistance is not always available. Leave a message if you get voice mail when you call.  Your call will be returned as soon as possible.

STRAY CATS

Do you know of a stray cat that needs a home?  The CT Humane Society is a great place to start.  They will take in stray cats if they have the room available.  You need to call to make an appointment.  They work on a day-by-day basis.  If they adopt out a cat, then they take in a new one.  You will need to catch the cat and bring it to them.  They do require a $45 drop off donation fee per cat, which is pretty reasonable considering they will do the necessary testing, vaccinating, spay/neuter, feed & house this cat until it is adopted out.  They are open @ 9:30 am 7 days a week.
